How to Make Honey Garlic Shrimp

  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger
  • 500 grams of shrimp
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • Green onion
  • Parsley


1Prepare a small bowl, put some ingredients: honey, soy sauce, garlic that already minced, a bit ginger (that has been pounded). Add a bit salt and pepper. Combine these ingredients and don’t forget to stir and mix them well. Then set aside.

2Next, wash the shrimp in clean water and put them in a medium bowl that consists of ice water. Let it rest for 3 minutes less then remove the hard skin from the body of the shrimp using your hands or a sharp knife. It is optional, for those who don’t like the hard skin of the shrimp.

3Then, put the shrimp that you have already washed in a ziplock bag or a small bowl. Combine the shrimp with a half of the ingredients and keeping the rest. Marinade for 10 minutes or overnight to make the seasoning is adequately absorbed. Don’t forget to stir them and you can put the shrimp in the refrigerator.

4While you are waiting for the shrimp, you can save your time with steam your rice. You can use brown rice and some fresh broccoli to complete this meal. (Tips: In washing broccoli, you should pay attention to cleanliness, most of them contain of pesticides that can harm your health.)

5Prepare a frying pan and add olive oil or butter on it. The nonstick skillet is ideal. After that, remove the shrimp from refrigerator and cook them until they have a pink color. Then, flip the shrimp over and put the rest of the ingredients. Cook until the shrimp is cooked enough for 3 minutes less. Served the delicious shrimp on your plate and added some green onion or parsley on the top of the shrimp.
